Getting support for travel costs

iPRES 2024 would like to enable as many people as possible to attend the conference in September, whether online or in person. We are therefore delighted to share the funding opportunities below (in alphabetical order) which will reduce the costs of registration and/or travel for attendees who might not be able to participate otherwise.

We are grateful to all these initiatives - please contact us if you know of other support mechanisms for conference participants.

iPRES Conference Bursaries

The iPRES2024 organizers are pleased to be anounce that sponsors are coming forward to create a specific travel bursary program for this conference.

Applications for funding are welcomed from students, early career professionals, and educators who are members of historically under-represented and marginalised communities and/or residents of under-represented countries and/or from low- and middle-income countries.

Call has closed July 7, 2024. The jury has carefully considered all requests and decisions will be communicated to applicants before July 17, 2024.

If more funding becomes available, a second round of assignments will be made before August 9th, 2024. Application details and regulations are available.

DPC: Career Development Fund

The DPC Career Development Fund (previously known as the Leadership Programme) has been created to offer an ongoing programme of grants so that DPC members can attend training and development opportunities. Over the course of its lifetime, it has provided over 200 grants for members. Call has closed 14th June, 2024. Only DPC members eligible to apply: please consult application details online.

DPOE-N: Professional Development Funding

The Digital Preservation Outreach and Education Network (DPOE-N) is seeking applications for individuals and institutions to support professional development in the area of digital preservation. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible to apply.

FIAT-IFTA: Travel Support Grant

FIAT-IFTA enables media archivists and researchers from member institutions from all over the world to attend and present via a travel grant. It promotes the development of their professional skills and opportunities.

Ghent University: Global Minds Fund

The UGent Global Minds Fund provides opportunities to the Ghent University community to collaborate with partners in the Global South in order to address the global challenges of sustainable development. The call for Short Research Stays targets researchers from one of 37 eligible countries in the Global South, and who wish to spend between 1 and 3 months as a visiting researcher at Ghent University to support and expand their ongoing research on sustainable development challenges. Call has closed 31st May, 2024. Only academic researchers can apply.
